Received Yesterday
As alluded to my previous post, discussions are ongoing with Tim Horn with a view to building a new layout … and look what arrived in yesterday’s post!
These are endplates for a modular model railway that’s currently in the early stages of planning.
The endplates are to a specification published by the Frem0n30 group, promoted by Kathy Millatt in the UK.
In the picture, you can see both Birch Ply and plain MDF sample versions, back and front.
We’ve modified the specification of the endplate very slightly, by adapting the outermost holes to accept pattern maker’s dowels to promote accurate alignment in our own set-up.
However, by doing it this way, our adaptation does not interfere with the standard as specified, as the male dowel will align with the unmodified outermost hole in an endplate made to specification, and therefore still locate.
The next step is to await delivery of the two 45° corner and 3′ straight board kits that Tim has in his very long queue for the laser-cutting machine!
