Assembling the drawer kits

Using the first drawer as a pattern, the remaining three drawers went together very quickly, measurements being simple comparisons with the first and all methods having already been established. These were completed in an evening.

Unlike my previous post, you can better see the construction in these photos, which incorporate the requested design change to incorporate a front / handle. The sides were sloped to meet the lower height front, instead of a radius originally considered.

Using a batch building process, the parts were cut, the base grove routed, the corners mitred, the edges rounded and then the whole assembled in stages, allowing for glue to set up one to release the clamps for the next one.

Having borrowed enough clamps to do one whole drawer at a time, all three were assembled and ready to install in one evening. It did however take several hours of thinking and assembling the first drawer to achieve this!

And there we have a stack of completed drawers, ready for Paint & Finish Department before installation.
