Chris Ward Side Tank Loco
Whilst at SWING in May, I got chatting to Chris Ward of C W Railways about his 3D printed loco bodies. There’s a couple I like but, after cajoling and barracking from some of my fellow Surrey Area Group members, I put my name down for a Side Tank Steam Loco with some modifications.
The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that the spectacle plates are neither completely round nor square cornered.
This is a customisation that I specifically requested from Chris which was easily accomodated as a result of the production process.
I’ve also opted for Kadee coupler slots and there’s space in the loco body for a decoder.
I’m presently following Chris’ advice to burnish out the striae created by the printing process. I’m talking to Stephen Fulljames for the loco name plate and there’s a Smokey Joe chassis in the post, care of eBay. More news as it breaks.
